Unstoppable

Life will knock you down. It is your choice to get back up.

I've had a tough couple of weeks!

I know, nothing huge happened to me, but all the little things were adding up and I wasn't sure I was going to make it.

But things happen when you start to do the right thing.

On Friday, December 7, 2012 I found out the greatest news of my college career. I made it as a member of the A-Team!

For those of you who don't know, A-Team is a mentoring program that Utah State has put together. New students have to come to the University for something called SOAR (Student Orientation, Advising, and Registration) during this time we want them to make some friends, and be able to ask any questions they may have. This is where A-Team comes in.

I'm so thrilled I can't even hardly contain it.

The people on this team are so kind and so ready to just be really good friends with you.

But here comes Sunday and I have been studying my guts out for my biology test.

I'm stressing out and I don't even know it. Then my WONDERFUL relief society president just comes over and gives me a hug because as she said, "She could tell there was something up with me"

I didn't even know there was something up with me.

but she did. and she let me talk and cry and hug her until I could get control of myself.

I am grateful for the people in my life that are so in tune with the spirit.

I need people like that.

Anyway, Have a GREAT finals week!

If You're Going Through Hell

When it rains it pours, Ladies and Gentlemen.

Let me just give you a run through of my week this week.

Monday: Work on 10 page paper that is due Tuesday night. Try to get back in the groove of school after Thanksgiving break.

Tueday: Quiz in Annuals and Perennials. 3 hour lab for plant prop grafting. I sliced the top part of my knuckle off. Finish up the 10 page paper, turn it in. Remember that I forgot to alphabetize my sources. Stop caring. Slam same finger as above in the door.
My fingers are all taped up! and you can see the bruise under my fingernail from the door!

Wednesday: Work on 8 minute presentation for English. Go to Biology lab. Take a Biology lab test. Not too good. Have to do a lab after we take a class. I did not feel well today, and yet I still had to finish that presentation and start working on my presentation for A-Team interviews on Friday.

Thursday: Have to dress up at 7:00 am for my presentation at noon because I have 4 back to back classes. Sit through Orientation. (Luckily it is the last orientation class I will ever have to go to. Give my 8 minute presentation. Go home and work on Mastering Biology and study for Biology test Friday morning.

Friday: Take Biology test in the morning. Go to A-Team interview mid-morning. I'm praying that this interview goes well. I really want this job.

After these things are over this week will be over and I will be able to relax for a few days. Until next week starts.

But luckily next week is Dead week, so no tests! Yay!

Wish me luck everybody.

Update Yo! I GOT A SECOND INTERVIEW!!!!!!!!

The Waiting Game

How is it that we as people can be sitting in a room full of people and still feel completely alone?

Maybe this is just a thing that I have to deal with.

I know I have friends. I have a lot of friends.

But I am just waiting for that one person to connect with.

That one person who understands you without having to try.

That one person who wants to know everything about you.

That one person who walks into a room and you instantly look at him and smile because he is looking at you too.

That one person who can look at you and know something is wrong, or if something is right.

I'm just waiting for that moment of pure joy and happiness that comes from knowing a person that well.

I'm waiting for the day when I can have someone to talk to all of the time, whenever I need it.

I know that relationships aren't all bells and whistles.

I know they take work.

I may be scared.

But I just know that I am tired of this waiting game.

Monster Mash

Halloween was here again!

I love this holiday. For some reason I enjoy dressing up as someone/something else. (Hence why I did Drama in High School I guess.)

So this year I went all crafty on the holiday.

I totally painted the "Crayola" on our shirts.
We bought shirts for about 3 dollars, and the pants for 15 dollars! Then I just bought fabric paint and printed out the crayola label and traced it onto the shirts. It took me about an hour and a half to do both shirts!

and Voila! We have CRAYONS!!

We had a ward party in which I helped plan, and tons of people came and enjoyed themselves!

And now I am watching Hocus Pocus. Say all you want but that is the scariest movie of all time.

TV Talkin' Song

So update on my head.

I got a concussion from that lovely little accident.

But no worries! I'm healthy and happy again.

And things have been going really well for me lately.

I've been super busy with homework and school stuff but I like staying busy!

But I do find time to do fun stuff! Don't you even worry.

Here are some things that I do for fun:

Duck Dynasty. If you have never watched this you don't know what entertainment is. Watch it. Now. In fact! Here is a  URL for you: http://www.aetv.com/duck-dynasty/video/#3411011514

I stare at Captain Hook and all of the other attractive men on the show "Once upon a time" Again, If you have never watched this you are crazy and should fix it. Its on hulu. Look it up.

This are the men from Vampire Diaries. Now do you understand why I watch it? Besides the fact that it is super good and makes me cry.
I just realized that the things that I do for entertainment revolve around TV.

How terrible.

But once I finish doing my homework I just want to sit on my bed and do nothing except stare.

Oh except I did carve a pumpkin yesterday. It was cool. We made a cat. It was creative, but not really.

All Shook Up

Okay kids. Let me tell you a story.

Sometimes I do things really dumb. If you have been reading this blog very long you know this fact.

Anyway.

So I went on a date with this kid last night. He is in my ward and he is really, really nice. I enjoyed myself a lot! We went to a corn maze and walked around. Naturally, I tripped a couple of times (that happens a lot when you are me.) but I managed to hide it pretty well.

We get out of the corn maze and go eat pie. It was delicious.

So I thought I was in the clear. I had done nothing extremely embarrassing the whole date.

Apparently fate had other ideas.

We parked back at his apartment and I get out of the car.

So far so good.

There is this pole in the way so I go to step around it. Apparently there was a sign on top of the pole.

And that sign smacked me in the face. Hard.

There was a noise and everything.

Here is my battle scar. It's worse today.

I thought these things only happened in movies...

Have a Nice Day

Well, How do I say this?

Oh I know.

It has been the worst week of my entire life. Ever. I have never been this sad and depressed in all of my life.

Basically I just feel lonely all of the time.

Good thing for my best friend McKenzie. I don't know what I would do without her. Who else would leave the homecoming football game early with me to go eat our weight in IHOP pancakes.

Who knows when I'll feel better.

Soon, I hope.

I look thrilled to be alive...

She's so attractive.

No smiles, at all. It was a terrible night.

I'm trying to be happy. There's a thumbs up!

I don't know why I am so attractive. or not.

Now here is the attractive one.

To top the whole week off I burned myself really bad with sugar/peanut butter. And now I look ridiculous.

If you can't tell by the pictures it has just been a long week.

Today is Sunday though so a new start.

And my ward is absolutely great. They are fantastic and I know I can get a hug if I ever need one.
